Rainforest landscape:
*Temperatures are always hot. There is a very little variation between the day and the night and between the seasons.
*Precipitation is abundant, more than 2000 mm a year. It´s regular throughout the year.
Savannah landscape:
*Las temperaturas son siempre altas.
*La lluvia es abundante, entre 500 y 2.000 mm. Sin embargo, no es regular a través del año. Hay dos estaciones: la estación lluviosa y la estación seca.
Desert landscape:
En los climas desérticos, hay una muy pequeña precipitación, no más de 250 mm al año. Hay desiertos cálidos y desiertos fríos:
*Los desiertos cálidos se encuentran cerca de los trópicos. Por el día, las temperaturas son siempre muy altas y pueden alcanzar los 50ºC. Por la noche, ellas caen bruscamente, a veces menos de 0ºC.
*Los desiertos fríos están en las zonas templadas. Los veranos son muy calurosos alternando con los inviernos extremadamente fríos. Las temperaturas pueden bajar hasta -10ºC.
Mediterranean landscape:
*Temperatures are very high in summer and mild in winter.
*Precipitation is not abundant. It occurs mainly in spring and autumn. Summers are very dry. Droughts are a major problem.
Continental landscape:
*Temperatures vary greatly. Winters are extremely cold, and summers are hot.
*Precipitation generally occurs in summer. It is wetter on the coast than inland.
Oceanic landscape:
*Temperatures are mild all year round because of the proximity of the ocean.
*Precipitationis abundant and regular. It rains in all seasons. Consecuently, the rivers have an abundant and regular flow all year round.
Polar landscapes:
*Polar climates are the coldest on Earth. Winters are long and harsh with temperatures of between -20ºC and -50ºC.
*There is a little precipitation, around 300 mm, and it falls as snow.
Alpine landscapes:
*Temperatures are very low in winter and cool in summer.
*There is an abundant precipitation during the year. It oftens snows in winter.
*Temperatures and precipitation change with altitude. Temperatures grow colder as we go up the mountain. Precipitation also increases.
